FAQs

General Questions

Where does AutoHub operate?

AutoHub has a mobile service that operates all over the UAE.

When is it a good time to do a pre-purchase inspection (PPI)?

A pre-purchase inspection (PPI) is preferred before buying the car and before negotiating the price because the inspection will equip you with the report you need to bargain.

Does AutoHub only focus on car inspections?

No, we offer a wide range of other services such as Pre-Purchase Car Inspection ,Car valuation, Window tinting, and Concierge services. We have big plans for the future. Stay tuned and make sure to follow us on social media to stay up-to-date as new services are launched.

Is pre-purchase inspection (PPI) available for motorcycles?

Unfortunately, pre-purchase inspection (PPI) is not currently available for motorcycles.

Inspection process

When will I receive the report?

All reports, videos and photos will be sent directly to your inbox within 6 hours of the inspection taking place.

How long does it take to do the inspection?

The inspection takes around two hours.

What is included in the inspection?

The inspection includes photos and a video shooting, mechanical and computerized reports as well as a specification checklist with functionality and a test drive.

What are the terms for inspecting a car?

Our technicians can inspect any car in the UAE whether it is old or new, European, Americana or Japanese, commercial or private.

Is my presence required at the inspection?

No need to; we do it for you.

Do I need to get a new car inspected?

New cars don’t always come from the main dealer, they sit on independent dealer lots for some time. When this happens, these cars not only collect dust, but are prone to rust which can cause major damage that you won’t be able to detect.

Scheduling & Payments

When do I pay for the pre-purchase inspection (PPI)?

You are requested to pay upfront at the time of booking.

What if I want to postpone or cancel the pre-purchase inspection (PPI)?

Our team is usually dispatched within 24 hours of you booking a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) with an SMS sent to the mobile number you have provided to confirm the booking. In case you want to cancel or move the inspection, you must inform us 8 hours before the inspection is set to take place.

When can I have my car inspected?

We operate seven days per week, Saturday through Thursday. However, we do make exceptions based on the seller’s availability.

Post-Inspection Scenarios

What if I don’t want to buy the car anymore?

If you decide that you don’t want to buy the car anymore and it is at least 8 hours before the inspection takes place, you can cancel and you will have an inspection credit on your account.

What if the car I wanted to buy showed many issues during the inspection and I decided not to buy it anymore?

No worries! If the car didn’t pass the inspection and you’ve decided not to buy it, our Concierge Team is here to help. Just let them know what you're looking for — they’ll find the right car, inspect it, and take care of all the paperwork for you. Call or WhatsApp us at +971 50 114 8616 to chat with an expert.

What if the car was sold before it got inspected?

Rarely does it happen, but it has happened. If the car is sold before our inspectors arrive, we’ll inspect the next car for free.

What if the car was sold after it got inspected?

There are some things we can’t control and one of them is the seller selling their car. If this happens, we’ll need proof this is the case and we’ll give you a discount on your next pre-purchase inspection (PPI).

Questions About the Report

You can email the contact details provided on your inspection report and we would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Jeep Specific Questions

Why do I need a Jeep-specific pre-purchase inspection?

Jeep models have unique pain points (e.g., steering wobble on solid-axle Wranglers, Quadra-Lift air-suspension leaks on Grand Cherokee, ZF 9-speed shift issues on Cherokee/Compass). A Jeep-focused PPI catches these before you buy.

What steering issues do you check on Wrangler/Gladiator?

We measure steering and chassis play (track bar, ball joints, tie-rod/drag-link), check alignment and wheel balance, inspect the steering box and damper, and road-test for wobble or wander.

How do you assess Grand Cherokee air-suspension (Quadra-Lift)?

Height calibration, compressor duty cycle, air-spring and line leak tests (soapy-water), reservoir and valve block inspection, and module scan for stored faults.

Do you check the ZF 9-speed transmission (Cherokee/Compass/Renegade)?

Yes—cold and hot drive cycles, shift quality/flare, TCM update status, fluid condition (where accessible), and fault scans.

What about the 2.4L Tigershark oil-consumption concern?

We review service history, run a pre-sale oil-consumption check, scan for related codes, and note any updates performed.

I'm looking at a Wrangler JL 2.0T—any special checks?

We pressure-test the cooling system and inspect quick-connects/hoses near the reservoir/water pump for staining or leaks.

Do you evaluate the Cherokee KL PTU (Power Transfer Unit)?

Yes—visual leak checks, backlash/play, temperature after road test, AWD engagement, and module scan for PTU codes.

Can you spot off-road wear or poorly installed lift kits?

We check control-arm angles, track-bar relocation/brackets, bump-stop spacing, shock leaks, driveshaft/u-joints, underbody hits, and tire cupping—then advise on drivability and safety.

Do you test 4×4 systems and transfer cases?

Yes—engagement in all ranges, locker/LSD operation (if fitted), and abnormal noises/vibes under load.

Do you check hybrids like Wrangler 4xe / Grand Cherokee 4xe?

We scan hybrid/battery modules, verify software update/recall status, and road-test for power delivery or warning messages.
